3 Sites for Tracking Upcoming Releases

Scouring the web for release information takes a while. Automate the process by following these websites that aggregate news of upcoming releases. Funnel it all into your email or social media feeds for ultimate convenience.

Sly Vinyl

Sly Vinyl

A one-stop for anything limited edition with contributions from more than 30 authors, Sly Vinyl posts frequent updates about upcoming and available releases for just about every genre. A neatly organized infinite-scroll homepage advertises each announcement with a concise title, large photo and genre label making it easy to find things relevant to your interest. Submit news of a release and find yourself credited on the posting, which is kinda fun. A weekly digest is available via signup if you prefer emails or follow along via Facebook and twitter.

Modern Vinyl

Modern Vinyl

Record flippers and eBay overpricers take note; Modern Vinyl was founded by fans to help make finding records easier for those “not looking to make a quick buck.” News of upcoming releases, reviews of current albums and podcasts pack the site. You can engage with editorial content and more brief news bits like their indispensable release calendar or listen to Spotify playlists. Score free swag with their contest and giveaways and follow them on Facebook or twitter too.

The Limited Press

The Limited Press

A few times now releases otherwise unannounced have shown up on The Limited Press, meaning that’s one more record added to my collection. At first glance you might think the site is familiar but one can never have too many sources of information. New release info predominate posts but news of reissues of classics and long out-of-print albums appears regularly. Their instagram feed is active and filled with every color of vinyl imaginable, making for some interesting snapshots. Stay informed through email subscription, Facebook or twitter.
